Hello, My name is Alaa Bakr, I am 23 years old and currently live in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis – Gaza, Palestine. I got married in August 2023, just two months before the war in Gaza broke out. What was meant to be the beginning of a beautiful chapter in my life turned into a story of loss and a daily struggle for survival.

I have been married for about 23months, and my husband and I were building our future together. But our home was recently destroyed by the ongoing aggression. I didn’t just lose a shelter – I lost the place where we dreamed of raising a family and living a stable life. My husband is a civil engineer who has spent years building homes and infrastructure to improve the lives of others. And now, we find ourselves homeless.

The situation in Gaza is catastrophic. We are witnessing the collapse of essential services such as sanitation, clean water, and healthcare, in addition to widespread hunger, disease, and complete insecurity. During the war, I was pregnant, and I gave birth to my daughter Eyloul under bombing and fear. Now, all I hope for is that my baby girl grows up in a safe place, where her cries are not drowned out by the sounds of war. (Eyloul is now seven months old)

That’s why I am launching this campaign, aiming to raise $18,500 USD to evacuate my family – my husband, my daughter, and myself – to a safe place where we can start over and give Eyloul a chance for a dignified life and a better future.

Cost Breakdown: Travel expenses: $3,000

Temporary accommodation: $2,000

Evacuation coordination (for two adults): $10,000

Baby’s monthly needs (700 USD × 5 months): $3,500

Baby’s monthly needs (700 USD × 5 months): $3,500

Our Baby’s Basic Needs In addition to seeking shelter and safety, we struggle daily to provide our baby girl, Eyloul, with food, medicine, and diapers, amid severe shortages and skyrocketing prices. Just yesterday, my husband paid $100 USD for only two cans of formula and one pack of diapers, which will barely last us one week. Our daughter needs over $700 each month to cover basic necessities like vegetables, small portions of meat, dairy products, Cerelac, vitamins, formula, and diapers – all of which are either unavailable or unaffordable under current conditions. We are not seeking luxury – only a healthy and safe environment for our daughter to grow up in, far from fear and deprivation.

A Humanitarian Appeal: Please join me, Alaa Bakr, on this journey to safety and recovery. Every donation – no matter how small – makes a difference. Help us build a new beginning. Your support is the light in our darkest hour.

Thank You: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us. Your kindness gives strength not only to me, my husband, and our daughter, but also to every Palestinian family trying to survive and rebuild in the midst of this tragedy. Together, we can reclaim what was lost. Together, we can build peace.

As the funds are raised, I will be transferring them directly to Olaa’s husband by international wire transfer to his Bank Of Palestine account. The amount you give, no matter how small will do much to releive the hardships Olaa and her family are facing. Please share this campaign as widely as possible.

Thank you so much! In solidarity,

Firstly, on behalf of Alaa and her family, thNk you so much for your support. Every dollar donated matters in a big way. Especially right now. We need your help again, because as you know, the height of famine is in Gaza. This is the point at which you either find something to help you through, or you die. If you are able, please donate anything you can. And share with 5 friends.

This is the most recent picture of Alaa and Ali’s daughter Aylool. She is in desperate need of milk and other nutritious foods. Please please please help again and thank you so much for your initial donations. We need at least $300 more to get them what they need for Aylool.

Your donation is very appreciated.

Thank you so much,

Sam
